StreamlineLift

Says the Lift is not really a straight 9-speed: it is an easy turnover or hyzer-flip disc that holds up to torque.

“You should try throwing the lift. It’s not really a “straight” 9 speed. But that’s the point. You can have overlap on paper just looking at numbers but you throw”

Latitude 64Grace

Traded for a new Royal Grace (a Kristin Tattar edition) that is so overstable it is borderline unusable for them right now, though it is the nicest-feeling disc they have had.

“It’s the Kristen tattar grace. It’s so overstable it’s borderline unusable for me right now but I look forward to the day I can get some use out of it.”

Dynamic DiscsEscape

In every tournament their flippy-to-straight fairway slot goes to a Dynamic Discs Escape, which they have thrown since starting with a DD starter set. Doesn't think it's the best disc for the slot but throws it better.

“any tourney that I play this slot is always filled by a DD escape. I think it’s sentimental because I started with a DD starter set. I’ve been throwing an”

Latitude 64Fuse

About 15 different mids have passed through their bag, but they couldn't shelve their Opto-Ice Orbit Fuse for even a round. It is perfectly seasoned after almost three years and they no longer lend it to friends.

“There’s probably been 15 different mids through my bag, I even tried putting my Fuse on the shelf but that only lasted for one round lol. Biggest problem is that”

DiscmaniaFD

A long-time Crave thrower who tried a Swirly S-Line FD as their straight fairway this season and has been killing it with the disc, calling it their best fairway driver in ages now that it is seasoned.

“But decided to try the Swirly S-line FD for this season as my straight fairway and I've been killing it with the disc. Probably my best fairway driver I've had”

MVPInertia

Their Proton Inertia turns more than they'd like, but their glow Eclipse one is perfect: straight for a long time with a pushing fade, holds an anhyzer for 375+ ft and gives big hyzer flips for 400+ ft.

“Try the MVP INERTIA in Eclipse plastic. The proton one I have turns more than I’d like but the glow one is so perfect! Straight for a long time with”

Latitude 64Diamond

The Project Grip Diamond is doing great things in their bag: slightly more stable than a regular Diamond, so it doesn't flip as much and gives long straight pulls.

“It is an 8 speed, but the project grip Diamond is doing great things in my bag. It is slightly more stable than a regular Diamond, so it doesn’t flip”

InnovaThunderbird

Says the Thunderbird changed their game and was their first ace disc. Recommends GStar for a straighter flight and Champion for more stability short of a Firebird.

“Thunderbird. Hands down changed my game when I discovered this disc. Also first Ace disc. Want one that flies a bit more dead straight/neutral then go Gstar Thunderbird. Want a”

DiscmaniaVanguard

Their current control driver is a Swirly S-Line Vanguard: it started out beefy and needed patience to beat in, and now holds its angle to the end on anhyzer, flips to flat on hyzer and gives a small S-turn without an aggressive fade.

“I got a swirly s line discmania vanguard which is my current control driver. It started out beef but you gotta be patient and beat it in. Holds it's angle”

MVPTesla

Took an unused 152 g Fission Tesla to a water-heavy course expecting to lose it; it flew dead straight with dependable fade. Calls it easy to throw and easy to hit their line with.

“Thought I'd sacrifice my unused Fission Tesla 152g. It refused to die, dead straight forever with dependable fade. It's a weird Chimera of Fission, light weight and stable/overstable disc but”

DiscraftAthena

Throws about 440 ft and uses an Athena out to around 370 ft: extremely controllable, very straight and with less fade than a faster disc. Released flat it drifts right for a while and comes back, and they move up to an S-Line PD for headwinds.

“Try a 7-speed. I use an Athena for this out to around 370 (I throw 440 or so with control). It is extremely controllable and very straight, and has less”

Latitude 64Sweep

A disc golf shop owner who recommends the Grand Sweep (not the Clear Sweep), saying they keep it very straight up to about 400 ft and that the Grand plastic is straighter than its 9/6/-0.5/2 rating.

“I highly recommend the Lat64 Grand Sweep for this (not the Clear Sweep). I can keep them very as straight up to about 400. They are very impressive and underrated.”

InnovaOrc

Recommends a Star Orc with the weight tuned so it can take speed without turning over or fading too hard; with a 350 ft max and 320 ft average they can rip a 168 g Orc fairly straight.

“A Star Orc with weight fine tuned where you can put some speed on it where it doesn't turn over too much, but doesn't fade too hard. I'm like 350”

KastaplastFalk

When limiting their bag to 9 speeds or under, the Lots and Falk are their go-to distance discs depending on whether they feel better on hyzer or flex that day. Notes some Falks are more neutral and some Lots flippier than others.

“Kastaplast Lots or Falk. Some Falks are more neutral than others and some Lots' are flippier than others, but they both fly great. In any cases when I'm limiting by”

InnovaFox

Bought the Fox for understability and found it even more understable than expected. Uses it for easy, reliable hyzer flips and for a hard left-to-right turn as a backhand-only player, and says it turns over better than anything else in their bag.

“I like the Fox! I got it because I need understable discs, and honestly...it was more understable than I expected. So it's used for hyzer flips (easy, nice, reliable) and”

Dynamic DiscsEMac Truth

Recommends the retooled EMac Truth as fitting between a Gator and a Hex, with decent stability without being very overstable. Calls the recent Lucid-X Burst Moonshine run very nice: stable, with enough dome for glide while still allowing forehands.

“For midranges, the retooled EMac Truth from Dynamic would fit right between the Gator and Hex. There are lots of discs that fit there, but the new EMacs are kinda”

ProdigyF3

Started out with Prodigy fairways: the F3 was the next step after outgrowing their F5 and is now their hyzer-flip fairway, with an F7 in the very flippy slot. Likes that the discs all feel the same in the hand.

“They get a lot of hate, but I started out with prodigy fairways. F3 was a natural next step once I outgrew my f5. Now it's my hyzer flip fairway”

InnovaBeast

Suggests the Beast as another Innova 10-speed with a very different hand feel from the Gorgon; in their experience it is a little less glidey and a little less flippy than the Gorgon.

“Maybe check out a Beast? It’s another Innova 10 speed, but with a very different hand feel than the Gorgon. In my experience it’s a little less glidey and a”

ProdigyH7

After trying a lot of Prodigy since returning to the sport, the only mold that stayed in their bag is a 400 H7. Says it has the same numbers as a Roadrunner but is far more controllable for them, and they only like it in 400 plastic.

“the only mold that has stuck in my bag is a 400 H7. Same numbers as a Roadrunner, but for me it's just way more controllable. I don't care for”

Latitude 64Gladiator

A right-hander who throws thumbers to get around trees on a left-to-right line says the Gladiator is the only disc they have that does it well; everything else they tried doesn't flop over.

“I am right-handed and throw a thumber when I want to get around trees etc on a left to right line. The only disc I have or have thrown that”

DiscraftBuzzz OS

Uses a Buzzz OS on one hole that needs an early right turn and a quick hard left: thrown on anhyzer RHBH it is stable enough to finish left, and they birdie it fairly often but only with that disc.

“One course I play has hole that needs an early right turn, but fairly quick hard left. I throw a Buzzz OS on that one on anhyzer (rhbh) and it's”

InnovaArachnid

Recently picked up an Arachnid expecting not to like it as much as their Buzzz. Finds it slightly shallower with a similar feel and a better flight, possibly thanks to its 6 glide.

“Second was just recently picked up an innova arachnid. I love my buzzz saw and didn't think I'd like the arachnid as much as the buzzz. But it has a”

InnovaPig

Throws a Pig forehand for long approaches, between their Berg X/Range and Gator3. Bags a beat-in R-Pro Pig and recently added a Star Pig as a more overstable option, which they are really enjoying.

“I forehand a Pig for what I call "long approaches" to slot in between the Berg-X/Range and Gator3. One beat-in R-Pro Pig and then a Star Pig for more O/S”

ProdigyA2

Used to run a Gator3 and a Range; the A2 is the only 4-speed that made them feel they no longer needed the Gator3. Finds it a very clean-releasing disc they feel confident with, and now approaches mostly with a putter, the A2 or the A5.

“I used to run Gator3 and Range. The A2 is the only 4 speed that made me feel I didn’t need my Gator3 anymore even tho I still love Gator3.”
